How people apply to Nubank

I led the design and operation of projects that shape how people apply for Nubank’s products, in Clojure on an event-driven platform.

Context

Applying is the first thing anyone does with a bank. At Nubank’s scale, the flows that take an application from a phone to a decision have to be correct, observable and easy to change.

What I did

I led the design and the day-to-day operation of projects in that part of the product. I mentored mid-level engineers toward ownership and interviewed across the hiring pipeline.

Outside the code, I helped to organize Building Nu MX, a meetup series for the engineering community in Mexico.

Outcome

Millions of people in Mexico can apply for multiple Nubank products at once every single day.
